To all Secondary Division students and families,
Please join us this Saturday for our live 2025 Welcome & Orientation online program. This year, we again will be hosting a live Zoom webinar so you can hear updates from the ATDP office, tips from our academic support staff, and answers to your lingering questions. We strongly encourage students who are new to the Secondary Division—especially students who are transitioning from the Elementary Division—to join us for our “What to Expect at SD” Q&A session starting at 11:00 and be part of our conversation. Registered participants can submit questions throughout the Zoom webinar. (Note that UC Berkeley requires participants to be logged into a Zoom account.)
10 AM – Welcome & Orientation
11 AM – What to Expect at SD
Attend Orientation by joining this Zoom webinar
You do NOT need to let us know if you cannot attend. The webinar is mirrored to YouTube here and should remain accessible to watch on demand.
Importantly, on or soon after Saturday the 31st, you will receive access to your teacher’s Orientation Letter and first assignment. Please give it your prompt attention, as most courses have significant coursework to be completed before the first day of class! Refer to your Preparing for Class checklist (in the On-site or Online Student Guide) throughout the coming weeks.
To access your letter: Starting May 31, sign into your account on the ATDP website, and click the student name. Then, in the “Placements” section of your account, find the link to your Orientation Letter under “Preparing for class.” Please download a copy of this PDF file for your records.
This area of your online account will also contain any information about joining a course website (on Canvas, Google Classroom, etc.) or Zoom classroom, if applicable. If your course uses these online resources, these instructions and links should be available by the end of the week following Orientation.
Online students may wish to make use of our Tech Checklist for remote learning, as well as the other resources on our tech support page.
On-site students may be interested in our recent update about navigating Cal: On and Around the Berkeley Campus.
Finally, we’d also like to take this opportunity to remind you that we still have open spots in our Explorations workshops & classes. You can check out current availability here. To add these activities to your ATDP schedule, visit the Explorations section of your online account. PLEASE NOTE that this is the last opportunity to sign up for some Explorations offerings, as we may need to cancel classes that don’t receive enough interest. Don’t delay!
We can’t wait to see everyone for the start of class in just a few weeks!
