Since 1998 when I first saw Chipper Jones hit a game winning single in the bottom of the 9th inning in game 4 of the national league division series, I've loved the Atlanta Braves. At that moment I knew that they were the best team in all of major league baseball. In the past decade they have went on to be #1 in their division 8 out 9 times in the past 9 years. They have represented the national league in the world series 5 times in the past 9, one of those years becoming world champions. In each of the last 3 seasons they have won over 100 games per season and have had a winning percentage over .600 and a fielding percentage over .980 each year. This year the Braves are currently in first place in the eastern division. With the way things are going they are sure to make a trip to the world series for the second year in a row.
