1984- The first season of "The Transformers" airs. The first line of Transformer toys is also released.

1985- The second season of "The Transformers" airs with the second line of Transformers also coming out.

1986- "Transformers: The Movie" comes out, the Transformers first feature film. Season 3 of "The Transformers" airs.

1987- "The Transformers" last season (consisting of a measly 3 episodes) airs.

1988- The first year Transfans go without a cartoon.

1996- After a hiatus in creation and sales, Transformers comes back in the form of "Beast Wars," toying with the idea of transforming animals rather than cars. The first season of "Beast Wars" airs, along with the first line of "Beast Wars" toys.

1997- Proving to be a success, "Beast Wars" second season airs.

1998- "Beast Wars" final third season airs.

1999- Building on "Beast Wars" and Transformers newfound success, the next Transformer based cartoon, "Beast Machines," first season airs.
